To our valued supporters,

Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) is pleased to release our 2008-2009 Annual Report.  We are proud our buisness education programs continue to impact young people in communities throughout the province.

The Annual Report is a way to highlight the activities of the past year, but it is also our opportunity to thank the countless volunteers, educators, donors and community partners who dedicate their time and resources to inspire our future workforce.

On behalf of all of us at JABC, I would like to express my sincere thanks for guiding and educating young people.  I encourage you to download this year's Annual Report and take pride in your contribution.

Sincerely,

Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) is thrilled to announce Dr. Donald Rix has again taken a lead role in BC's philanthropic community by contributing $400,000 in support of strategic business education programs for BC's youth.  His generosity includes an inaugural endowment donation of $200,000 to establish the "Dr. Donald Rix Inspiring Business Excellence" Endowed Scholarship Fund.  Awards will be given annually to top Junior Achievement students from rural communities or to Aboriginal or immigrant students to further their post secondary education. An additional $200,000 was given in support of JABC's educational program delivery over the next four years.

"A truly rewarding part of my career is encouraging and coaching young scientists and entrepreneurs", says Dr. Rix, "I believe they are the future of BC and that we must draw on our youth from around the province to ensure a strong and vibrant economy. Many of these fine future leaders live in more remote or difficult circumstances and I wanted to partner with Junior Achievement to support them in their educational pursuits."

I'm a JA Volunteer...

I am also a JA donor.  Like you, I have been in the classroom and have seen first hand the amazing impact JA programs have on our youth.  I hope you will also consider making a donation so that as many students as possible can participate in these important business education programs.

Just $40 enables one student to participate.  Please go on-line and make a one time gift or join the Monthly Giving Program.
